The Tanto Monocular Starter Kit by Nocturn Industries delivers a modern, modular approach to night vision—offering scalability, weight reduction, and rugged performance for tactical users who demand flexibility without compromise.

Built around the RPO NVD-N Eyepiece and RPO 3.0 Objective Combo, this configuration offers all the benefits of RPO’s legacy 3.0 lens system with key optical upgrades. The NVD-N eyepiece provides a wider eyebox and extended eye relief, comparable to Noctis milspec lenses—resulting in a more comfortable and forgiving viewing experience. The paired RPO 3.0 objective lens, as recommended by RPO, ensures superior light transmission and excellent center resolution, all while reducing total system weight by up to 30% compared to standard glass.

As a monocular, the Tanto retains compatibility with traditional PVS-14 J-arm mounts, but improves on weight, footprint, and ergonomics. Its simplified control setup includes a push-button on/off switch integrated into the battery cap to streamline operation.

The true strength of the Tanto lies in its convertibility. Users can transform it into a dual-tube binocular by adding a second unit and attaching the Daisho articulating bridge, enabling side-articulation for single- or dual-eye use. This allows seamless stowing without needing to flip the unit upright, ideal for use in vehicles or confined spaces. The bridge also provides single-battery power for both tubes, IP stops, and a familiar control feel similar to the UANVB Katana.

Each unit is assembled and performance-verified by Cold Harbour Supply using NNVT NVT4-AG white phosphor intensifier tubes with 1600+ FOM and includes a full test report from an in-house Hoffman night vision test set.

The Tanto meets and exceeds MIL-STD-810G and passes the NATO 1.5-meter drop test, making it an exceptionally rugged platform that can evolve with your operational requirements.
